Kingman: Recreation

The lovely city of Kingman offers a unique range of recreational and historical attractions. From old world charm to modern luxury to the great outdoors, there is sure to be something for every taste and preference. Plus, with over 50 inns, hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts and resorts, tourists and temporary residents are sure to be accommodated.

As with other communities in Mohave County, Kingman boasts of beautiful scenery due to its proximity to mountains, lakes and rivers. The Colorado River, in particular, provides limitless hours of boating, fishing, swimming, sailing, jetskiing and other forms of water-oriented recreation. The terrain is also perfect for hiking, picnicking, rock hunting, and taking photographs. Daily walking tours and day trips to Kingman?s old towns and parks are also available.

Most of Kingman?s tourists take long drives?sometimes to the Grand Canyon?s western rim, other times to several ghost towns in the area, and always along the National Scenic Byway of historic Route 66. The city of Kingman has always been particularly proud of having the longest remaining preserved stretch of Route 66 in the area. Visitors from all over the country visit Kingman to get their "Kicks on Historic Route 66."

Kingman is also an easy drive to other cities with tourist attractions in the state, such as Phoenix. It is also Arizona's gateway to the famous gambling destinations of Las Vegas and Laughlin in Nevada.
