Dolan Springs: An Overview
Dolan Springs is a a census-designated place in Mohave County, Arizona. This unincorporated desert community is around 30 miles northwest of the city of Kingman, 75 miles southeast of Las Vegas, and 70 miles northeast of Laughlin, Nevada. Dolan Springs, which has an elevation of around 3,350 feet, can also be found at the base of the 6,900-foot-high Mount Tipton. As of the 2000 census, Dolan Springs had a total population of 1,867.

Because of its strategic location, Dolan Springs is sometimes called the Gateway to Lake Mead?which is the largest man-made lake and reservoir in the United States. It is also quite near to the western part of the Grand Canyon, allowing the residents of this small community to have a spectacular view of nature in key areas.

A land development program known as Lake Mohave Ranchos was responsible for Dolan Springs' beginnings. Although it is a relatively new and small community, Dolan Springs has quietly flourished into a self-sufficient and picturesque residential community.
