Bullhead City: Desert Oasis

Because of its desert beauty as well as its scenic location along the Colorado River, Bullhead City has become an oasis for tourists and visitors. More than five million people travel through Bullhead City annually to enjoy the wonderful weather and great community atmosphere. Even residents can always find some outdoor recreational activity, available to them literally at their back doors.

In both the banks of the Colorado River and the warm, calm waters of Lake Mohave, people never tire of swimming, fishing, boating, waterskiing, jetskiing and other water-related activities. Along Lake Mohave are luxurious resorts, expansive beaches and excellent swimming conditions. Bullhead City also has one of the finest desert hiking trails and wilderness areas in the country. The Black Mountain range east of the city provides people with other activities, including rock hounding, photography and exploring ghost towns.

For more sedate activities, the City also houses the Lake Mead National Recreational Area, Arizona's Veteran Memorial, the Colorado River Museum and many parks. South of Bullhead City is the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, which houses a fantastic variety of birds and water fowl. Golfers need not feel left out, as they can choose from around five golf courses in Bullhead City and its surrounding areas.

Bullhead City is also easily accessible to its sister city across the river, Laughlin, which is one of the nation's most popular gaming communities. It is also quite easy to travel from Bullhead City to the rest of the country, as the Bullhead/Laughlin International Airport is located in the area. However, some visitors love the city so much that they choose to settle down here and enjoy the year-round sunshine.
