Bullhead, Arizona Real Estate
Bullhead City: An Overview

Bullhead City in Arizona is located along the east side of the Colorado River, near the juncture where the three major states of Arizona, Nevada and California meet. It can also be found directly across the Colorado River from the city of Laughlin, 100 miles south of Las Vegas, and just a couple of miles north of the Fort Mohave Indian Reservation.

As of the 2000 census, Bullhead City had a total populaton of around 35,000 people, but it is still steadily growing. People continue to flock to the city despite its desert climate. Admittedly, Bullhead City is one of the country's hottest cities during the summer, receiving only a few inches of precipitation all year round.

Bullhead City began as the headquarters for the Davis Dam and Lake Mohave construction in the 1940s. Much earlier, the area was called Bull's Head Rock, and was used as a landmark during the previous century when steamboats used to travel up and down the river. It was eventually incorporated in 1984, making it a relatively new city.

Today, Bullhead City serves a trade area population exceeding 144,000. It also plays host to hundreds of visitors that flock to the Colorado River Valley and Lake Mohave area for water-related recreational activities and tourist attractions.
